Thank goodness. Yet another Friday. We meet again. It's been one crazy week, and I think now my city is restored to order. The last couple of days were crazy, and very busy at both major airports, train stations, roadways, blah blah blah. I think the last of the tourists are heading out, and now my commute can be back to the usual routine, and I can finally venture downtown and meet my friends for dinner. Oh how I've missed them since post-elections! Now all the "freshmen" are settled into the area, and their staffers (my friends) are all settled as well. Time to bring back that reunion-esque vibe.
And all week, students kept asking me why this was my first election season in this area, and I chose to stay as far away from the events as possible. Well kiddos, this chica doesn't do crowds or cold weather very well. Why stand outside at 4am on my scheduled day off to stand and freeze my way through the Inauguration, only to watch it on a screen? I know, not very patriotic of me, but at the same time, I did watch it on TV, in my fuzzy slipper socks and yoga pants. Tell me, could that have happened on the National Mall? HECK NO!
So thank goodness it is Friday. I can throw on my boots and paint the office green. (Just kidding, my office is white, but I'm wearing a green cardi, so that counts, right?)
I totally am in love with this color. So it is not the famous color of the year, but its a step in the right direction for me. It's color! And you know, this was a stretch for me too. I wasn't sure if this shirt would look right with the sweater, but I guess judging by what my office and department was saying (and some students) that I looked like I am ready for spring. OF COURSE I AM. Apparently this "cherry blossom" season is supposed to be fantastic...
We'll just have to wait and see...
